Bagels, “Cream Cheese,” and NYC-Fun

When in New York City, eating a bagel is a must. I was excited to try Pio Bagel, located in Brooklyn. They had a variety of bagels and cream cheeses to choose from. My eyes wanted to try multiple bagels and cream cheeses, but my stomach could only handle one bagel and cream cheese. I decided on the whole wheat bagel and tofu-scallion “cream cheese.” Yummmmm! It was so filling. I could only eat half of the bagel for breakfast. I saved the other half for a mid-morning snack.

Pio Bagel offered other yummy breakfast and lunch items, too, such as French toast, pancakes, omelets, and a variety of wraps, sandwiches, smoothies, and fresh juices. I was astounded! I wanted to try a piece of everything!

I’ve read numerous articles and listened to multiple podcast episodes on health and wellness that discuss why plant-based diets are preferred for our mind, body, and spirit.   2. Reduces inflammation that leads to pain.
  3. Body weight is kept at a healthy balance.
  4. The food items have an increased fiber amount. Remember that the fiber content should always be greater than the sugar amount in food items.
  5. The risk of cancer reduces.
  6. Cognition and brain health function are elevated.
  7. Who wants more energy?
