Christmastime is here!

It’s that favorite time of the year again- Christmas! Boy, did the season fly by! It was a busy season, full of fun and festivities. I hope y’all are having a wonderful season.

I got to check out the new Gyu-Kaku on School Street for lunch last week. I haven’t been to Gyu-Kaku in ages. It was so worth it! I love their lunch deals. It’s so reasonable, and just right!

My deal came with miso soup and a yummy toss salad. The dressing was amazing! I think it was sesame-flavor.

Ordered the Kobe-style nakaochi rib and flat iron steak. The meal also comes with a drink… fruit punch, ftw!!! And, gotta have the brown rice! All for $11.95. We could even have refills on drinks. How awesome is this deal?!

Oh and those sauces for the meats are AMAZING! Ponzu, teriyaki, and sweet and spicy. Yum!

Can’t wait to try more of their lunch deals.

Have a Merry Christmas! Happy Birthday, Jesus! The reason for the season!

Aloha,

FS~

Korean BBQin!

Happy Social Saturday!

My girlfriend and I (August babies) celebrated our bdays at Gen Korean BBQ House at Ala Moana with our friends. We’ve been wanting to try this place and we were glad we finally did! It was pretty good! All-you-can-eat with a set price for lunch and dinner. However, if you don’t finish what you’ve ordered, the restaurant will charge you for anything that wasn’t eaten. Oooh! That’s good, though. Food should NOT be wasted! So, we made sure we didn’t leave anything left- haha!

Gen Korean BBQ House is located where the old Tsukiji Fish Market used to be. I loved the new atmosphere. It was very “club-like.” When we got there, it wasn’t too crowded- they don’t take reservations. But in the nick of time, the restaurant was filled!

We ordered garlic chicken, bulgogi, brisket, and boneless kalbi. We LOVED the brisket and kalbi. We ordered multiple rounds of those dishes! Whoo hoo! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! The side veggies were delish! I look forward to that when dining at Korean restaurants. So good! And I love that you can have more if you want!

They provided three different sauces: shio (salt), sesame, and ponzu. I liked the ponzu sauce the best. It paired well with all the meats. Yum!
