Merry Christmas Eve- a perfect posting for the season!

Merry Christmas Eve and Happy Sunday! Almost two months ago, one of my dear friends got married at her dad’s cabin on the lake in Minnesota. We had a lovely, delicious dinner amongst family that I wanted to share. Perfect for the Christmas season.

On her wedding evening, we had prime rib, with homemade mash, green beans, carrots, and sauteed mushrooms. Yummy! That piece of meat was HUGE! I tried my best to finish it all, but couldn’t. I was way too full. Too bad I couldn’t bring it home as leftovers to finish. Haha, back home to Hawaii.

Carrot cake for dessert/their wedding cake! Yummy! Haven’t had carrot cake in so long!

What a coincidence, tomorrow we will be having prime rib for our Christmas dinner. Can’t wait! Be sure to lookout for another posting of that soon.

Have a beautiful Christmas with your loved ones. It’s my most favorite time of the year to celebrate with family.

A simple soup, with some experimenting!

Happy Veteran’s Day weekend! Mahalo to all of our troops, active and retired, for their sacrifice to this Nation!

I was asked by one of my besties to make a simple soup on her wedding day to have for lunch, as her family and I were prepping for the evening’s ceremony and reception. The plan was to boil chicken broth and throw in some frozen mixed vegetables. But as I was mixing the soup, seasoned with pepper and garlic powder, I decided, “hey,” let’s see what it would taste like to add a few eggs, along with some lemon juice to give it a kick! You know me and experimenting! Well, the soup turned out pretty good! I enjoyed it and so did those who drank it. Mmm mmm! I am so making this again this weekend, and experiment even more!!!!

Happy weekend!

Let’s make this a habit!!

Happy Monday! Let the new week begin!

At my girlfriend’s wedding day, they hired a food truck and served the guests burgers/sandwiches. Pretty cool! I’ve never been to a wedding where a food truck was hired. Yet alone, served burgers and sandwiches. Awesome! The food truck was called The Habit Burger Grill. I ordered the tri-tip steak sandwich with onion rings. Yum! It was very tasty! Steak was juicy! And, those onion rings were satisfying! They had just the right amount of batter.

Their menu looks amazing! The next time I’m in Cali, I’m going to look for them and try their other burgers and sandwiches. What a fantastic wedding reception dinner! Casual, yet classy at the same time!

The “Newlywed Specialty Drink!”

My newlywed friends made an awesomely refreshing peach sangria just for their wedding reception this summer. It was so delicious!

Doesn’t this look amazing? It was so refreshing; I had four of these glasses- haha! Whoo!

I loved this drink so much. So much that I replicated it for my family’s bday celebration this past weekend.

It’s a very simple recipe.

Missing the Moscato wine bottle and the fruits, but you get the picture of what we need to make this bad boy 😉 Haha!

  • Peach sparkling water
  • Peach schnapps
  • Moscato wine (regular or pink)
  • Fresh or frozen peaches
  • Fresh or frozen berries (blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)

For my rendition, I used all of the above, including fresh fruits- white/yellow peaches, strawberries, and blackberries, and pink moscato. I’m a fresh fruits kind-of gal!

Bam!!! It was a hit! Tasted very close to the original.

Much thanks to the newlyweds and their wonderful creation! I can’t wait to experiment and make more kinds of sangrias soon!

Happy summer! Cheers!
