There’s Indian food at Shirokiya!

I am so excited! Finally! Indian food at Ala Moana Shopping Center!!! Bombay Grill is located at Shirokiya Japan Village Walk’s extensive food court. I love the diversity there! So many different ethnic foods to choose from!

This is the chicken biryani rice. One of my faves! It was so good, especially with the yogurt raita sauce. Perfect pairing!

I love yogurt with certain meals- Greek, Indian, and with most of my meats (i.e., lamb, steak, pork chops, and even chicken). Yummy!

I’m glad to know there’s another Indian joint on the island, and at the mall- how convenient!

Dinner date at Piggy Smalls

I love Piggy Smalls. They are the second restaurant of the Pig & the Lady, which is another love of mine! The Pig & the Lady is a Vietnamese-fusion resturant located in Chinatown. They started off at Farmer’s Market at the Neil Blaisdell Center at Ward on Wednesday evenings, Kailua Town Center on Thursday evenings, and at Kapi’olani Community College on Saturday mornings, before finally opening up their physical restaurant. Yay! They are still at Farmer’s Markets on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, which is awesome! Their success is amazing! So thankful for them and the ono food they serve.

Every time I go to either restaurant, I get so excited to see what’s new on the menu. I am always eager to trying something new.

Slow roasted parsnips, topped with arugula, roasted buckwheat, Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and black pepper honey.

This was the first time trying parsnips and it had an interesting texture. Because it looks like carrots, I thought it would taste similar to the veggie, but it reminded me more of potatoes.

Squash tikka masala- an Indian curry vegetarian dish with kabocha, butternut squash, variety of zucchinis, seeds, cilantro, and seven-grain rice.

This was amazing! I loved it! Whenever I see an Indian dish, I get so excited! I can eat Indian food all-day, everyday! Haha!

My boyfriend ordered the pho-strami burger. Makaweli beef, crispy smoked brisket bacon, burnt onion, and an argula salad.

He absolutely loved it!

Visit all these locations! Their pho is NOTHING like you’ve ever tasted before! I love their uniqueness of their Vietnamese soup. So, so good!

Hot pot for a perfect chilly night

It’s been quite chilly all week in Hawai’i Nei and I like it! Tonight, I made hot pot, using the split pot my aunties gave for Christmas.

I bought this at the store during the holidays, as it was on sale. I LOVE Tom Yum and was super excited when I saw this on the shelves. I HAD to try it!

On the left is an impromptu soup base I made since I only had one pack of the tom yum soup. It’s made of: ponzu sauce, bonito flakes, pickled garlic, garlic/Hawaiian salt, and lemon juice. On the right is the tom yum soup. I added garlic/Hawaiian salt and lemon juice. I added the following ingredients to the hot pot: shrimp, soft tofu, chuck beef, and pho noodles.

It was so good! I want to buy more now that I know it’s very tasty, and not to mention, spicy and soup. My kind of soup!

Keep warm, peepz of Hawai’i!
