Excited to try a new cuisine in Hawaii!

I am always so excited to try new types of foods. A few months ago, I came across a Uzebek joint in Downtown, called Silk Road Café. The first of its kind in Hawaii.

I didn’t know what to expect! I didn’t know what kind of dishes they would have.

This is fried lagman. It reminded me of spaghetti. It’s a ground beef, veggie, noodle stir-fry. I liked it! The bread was amazing! The noodles reminded me of udon. Very similar.

This is the lagman soup. Same ingredients, just in a soup style. Mmm! You know me and soup.

I want to make my way back there again to try their other dishes very soon. They have some interesting items on their menu. I love their place. They sell a lot of imported food products, too. Very interesting. I had no idea what half of those items were, haha! I think they were labeled in Russian.

So where is Uzbekistan, you say? It’s in the middle of the “stan” countries: Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgystan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, & Pakistan. Too many “stans.” Haha!
