Celebration continues for Auntie!

We celebrated my auntie’s birthday with our extended family. For dessert, I baked Strawberry Jam Funfetti cupcakes, with Cool Whip frosting. The cupcakes paired so well with the jam. It’s so much fun getting creative in the kitchen! I always have a blast making cupcakes and adding my own touch to make it extra special. My cousins especially enjoyed them. They had two cupcakes each!

“Walking Dead” birthday party!

Last weekend, we celebrated our friend’s birthday and it was themed “The Walking Dead.” Those cupcakes pictured above are from Sugarlina in Aiea. Our other friend had bought the WD decor from somewhere else. It was adorable. Super creative!

The party was a potluck style. In addition to the wonderful cupcakes, I brought crackers, cheese, and salami for appetizers.

I made a ricotta spread, seasoned with garlic salt/powder, pepper, dill weed, and parsley. It was very light, as ricotta doesn’t have much flavor to it. The spread not only went well with the crackers, but with the other dishes, too!



Italian cheeses!!! I hear the angels singing above!! I loved all the cheeses, but I especially enjoyed the Asiago cheese. Mmmm!


…And what paired so well with the appetizer I brought, was my friend’s sangria. It was so refreshing! Those fruits paired so well with the wine and ginger ale blend.
