The other night, my boyfriend made fried noodles with slices of steak and assorted vegetables (green beans, red bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, and celery). It was a very simple and quick dish, made with a parmesan-garlic-butter sauce. It was really good! I enjoyed it very much. My bf told me the entire meal (enough for the two of us, and leftovers for me to bring for my home lunch the next day) costed him less than $20. Amazing deal, huh?
For Father’s Day this year, we made my dad homemade lasagna. We made two kinds: both with ground turkey, but one with arugula and the other with broccoli.
It’s been a long time since I last made lasagna. I forgot how simple it is to made! It’s all about layering and layering!
I first cooked the ground turkey with the Alfredo sauce and garlic (gotta have the garlic!). I layered the pan with the no-bake noodles (decided to try that) and the turkey-sauce mix, arugula/broccoli, and ricotta/mozzarella/pepper Jack cheeses, and repeated the steps until the pan was full. We topped the lasagna with shoestring fries before popping them into the oven. Yum! It was a yummy Father’s Day dinner!
