Chronic Pain Q&A

  1. Is chronic pain self-diagnosed, or must it come from a medical professional?
    • I believe chronic pain can be self-diagnosed if it’s longer than a month. You don’t need to be told by a medical professional that you have “chronic pain.”
  2. What are the most common types of chronic pain?
    • Common types of chronic pain include neck, fingers, lower back, knees, and legs.
  3. What stigmas are associated with chronic pain?
    • The individual is older, heavier, and has a lot of other health problems. 
    • The only solutions for chronic pain relief are opioids, injections, and surgery.
    • It’s all in the mind.
